Manisha Meem Nipun also known as Mohammed Jahidul Islam Al-Azad. Manisha is a youth trainer, 25 and Human Rights and Transgender Rights Activist of Bangladesh. She has been working to develop the SOGIESC community for the last seven years and thriving to change the lives of transgender community. For her dedication, effort and volunteering work for SOGIESC community, The BYLC Volunteer Awards 2021 is being given to her. Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) on Friday launched "BYLC Volunteer Awards: Pandemic Heroes 2021".Manisha recently founded “PathChola-Walking the Way” to support the highly marginalized transgender community during the COVID-19 pandemic and has in the past received many awards in recognition for her contributions to the community, including Youth Champion Bangladesh in 2018, Best Field Facilitator Award in 2019, Volunteer Activism Award in 2020, Xulhaz Mannan Memorial Award of diversity in 2021, and Human Rights Defender Award in 2021. Manisha plans to use her award prize money for self-development and to complete her higher education. She also hopes to visit Gender and Sexual Minority groups in the region in order to develop a working relationship with them and learn from their experience.
